With no animal welfare laws and cheap labor, China has become the world’s top fur exporter, producing more than half the world’s fur. This shocking investigation by Care for the Wild, EAST International and the Swiss Animal Protection (SAP) shows the cruelty suffered by raccoon dogs on a Chinese fur ranch. Some animals are shown struggling in pain as workers hang them upside-down and peel the skin from their bodies. One raccoon dog is thrown, bloody and skinless, onto a pile of other dead and dying animals yet continues to move his head and limbs, obviously conscious and suffering excruciating pain.
