This investigation was filmed by Compassionate Consumers at a Wegman's Egg Farm battery cage facility in Upstate New York that houses 750,000 egg-laying hens. Battery cages are stacked in rows with several birds per cage, each hen getting a space to live in that is smaller than a standard sheet of paper. The inhumane conditions compassionate Consumers documented at Wegman’s are much like those found at other large-scale egg farms throughout the U.S. About 98% of the eggs in America are produced using the battery cage system. With no animal welfare laws and cheap labor, China has become the world’s top fur exporter, producing about 85% of total global output. This shocking investigation by Care for the Wild, EAST International and the Swiss Animal Protection (SAP) shows the cruelty suffered by raccoon dogs on a Chinese fur ranch. Some animals are shown struggling in pain as workers hang them upside-down and peel the skin from their bodies. One raccoon dog is thrown, bloody and skinless, onto a pile of other dead and dying animals yet continues to move his head and limbs, obviously conscious and suffering excruciating pain. Watch now
