Episode #42- Pig Farms This episode features the documentary 'Pig in Hell' exposing the conditions on pig farms in the UK. The animal advocacy group VIVA went undercover on pig farms in England to expose the horrible conditions that pigs are forced to endure when raised for meat. Several animal advocates go undercover to document the conditions at Wegman's egg farm in Rochester, NY. They rescue several sick birds in dire need of veterinary care. (Video provided by Compassionate Consumers) Episode #44– Factory Farming This episode features several undercover factory farming investigations. These investigations go behind the scenes to expose the mistreatment of animals on factory farms in the United States. The investigations are narrated by Mary Tyler Moore, James Cromwell and Pamela Anderson. Jaoquin Phoenix narrates an in-depth investigation to look at how animals are treated in society. This episode focuses on the treatment of animals as pets and discusses how the overbreeding of dogs and cats leads to the euthanasia of millions of animals every year. (Video provided by Nation Earth) Episode #46– Animals in Society We continue with the second part of the documentary 'Earthlings' which exposes the mistreatment of animals when raised for food and clothing. Jaoquin Phoenix narrates the shocking footage from dozens of undercover investigations that go behind the scenes to bring the truth to light. (Video provided by Nation Earth) Episode #47- Animals in Society We continue with the third part of the documentary 'Earthlings which exposes the mistreatment of animals when used in medical experimentation and for entertainment. This documentary goes undercover to show dozens of investigations into medical research facilities where tens of millions of animals are experimented on and killed every year. It also looks at the sad lives of animals used for entertainment. (Video provided by Nation Earth) Episode #48 - Animals in Society We continue with the fourth and final segment of the documentary 'Earthlings'. Earthlings shows a very disturbing aspect of life on earth: that we humans enslave and exploit the animals that we share the planet with. This final segment looks at factory farming, bullfighting, medical experimentation and describes the philosophy of animals rights. The film urges humans to learn about the treatment of animals and to work to end the exploitation of animals. (Video provided by Nation Earth) Episode #49 - Leatherback Turtles This episode features the documentary 'The Last Journey for the Leatherback?'. It documents the incredible life of leatherbacks - the largest species of sea turtes. Their population is quickly declining due to the use of industrial fishing; longline hooks and miles of nets accidentally kill leatherbacks. Interviews with leading marine scientists explain how we can work to save the Leatherback. (Video provided by Sea Turtle Restoration Project) Episode #50 - A Look at America's Food System Episode #50 features the first part of the documentary 'Sustainable Table'. Sustainable Table takes an in-depth look at the harmful effects our food production system has on the environment, human health and animal welfare. The film also explores the alternatives to the current agricultural system. This documentary features Undercover TV host and vegan bodybuilder Kenneth G. Williams who speaks about how he thrives on an organic, vegan diet. Producer Mischa Hedges traveled across the west coast to learn about our food production system. In Part 2, former cattle-rancher Howard Lyman is featured. He speaks about his personal experience as a farmer, the negative health effects he and his family suffered and the negative environmental impact his industrial farm created.
